Club Óige Setanta is a club for young Irish speakers.

Club Óige Setanta will start back on Thursday 22th Septenber in Rosemount Youth Centre (beside Brooke Park Leisure Centre). The club will be held every Thursday between 6-8pm. There will also be a club in Pennyburn youth club from 6-8pm on Tuesday evenings. The club is aimed at children aged between 6 and 11 years old who are attending one of the three Irish Medium Primary schools in the city. Aswell as the weekly sessions, there are various activities organized for the year, discos and trips for example. The dates and times of the activities are available from Sinéad if anybody would like to get them at the start of the year. I hope you make use of this service which is a great opportunity for the young people to use their Irish outside of school hours, as well as having a bit of craic at the same time. A registration form will need to be filled out on the first night. There are also trips organized this year for the teenagers who are attending the English secondary schools in the city, who don’t get a chance to use their Irish anymore. This will give them the opportunity to use their Irish in a non-formal, enjoyable situation with their friends. The dates are available from Sinéad if anybody would like them. The Homework Club will be starting again on Monday 19th September in Gaelsoil Éadain Mhóir. All children who attend the Irish schools in the city are welcome.
